Learn what to expect and how to look after your newborn with confidence. This Masterclass is delivered by expert neonatal nurses who are devoted to teaching and empowering parents in their journey through the early weeks. This class is both informative and practical with opportunities for hands on practice and a bespoke question and answer session. Demonstrations include bathing, swaddling, nappy changes, cord care, settling techniques, home safety and much more.

This Masterclass is delivered in your home by expert neonatal nurses who are devoted to teaching and empowering parents in their journey through the early weeks. It is intended for expectant couples or new parents with a new baby. The content of this class is identical to the group class, however will allow for a more intimate session in relation to you and your baby's specific needs. Dolls will be provided for practice. When enquiring please include your preferred dates/times and location.

Helen Taylor - AHPRA Registered Paediatric Nurse, Paediatric Massage Consultant and Certified Infant Massage Instructor

My career in Paediatric and Neonatal Nursing spans over 26 years, in which time I have worked in many clinical areas including Paediatric Intensive Care, Paediatric Oncology, General Paediatrics and Neonatal Intensive Care. My Nursing expereience has been gained here in Australia and the UK. I currently work as a Clinical Nurse Educator in a Level 4 Special Care Nursery in a Brisbane based Hospital where I enjoy teaching staff and new parents. I am a mother of 2 and am dedicated to teaching and empowering new parents in the principles surrounding newborn care.

Karen Hughes -AHPRA Registered Paediatric Nurse, Paediatric Massage Consultant and Certified Infant Massage Instructor

I am a dedicated mother of 3 boys aged between 18-25 years old. My nursing career began in the UK 26 years ago when I qualified as a Paediatric Nurse. I worked in a Children's University Teaching Hospital in the UK for 15 years before emigrating to Australia in 2014. I currently work as a Clinical Nurse in a Level 4 Special Care Nursery and bring a wealth of experience to the team, where I strive to offer excellence in my provision of teaching knowledge and skills to families. I am an advocate for the provision of expert instruction to prospective parents and new parents.

This video is ideal for anyone seeking guidance for an infant suffering symptoms of colic. We cover the potential reasons why colic symptoms may present in your baby and take you through an abdominal massage sequence to assist your baby.

The Full Body Infant Massage Video - A$65.00

This video is a comprehensive 'top to toe' full body massage sequence instruction. This video covers all aspects of infant massage including appropriate positioning, stroke technique, pressure requirements and general safety. We also include touch relaxation and an introduction to lymphatic exercises also known as 'Baby Yoga'.

What do I need to bring to a masterclass?

You do not need to bring any items along with you for the class, however if you are bringing your newborn along to the class then you will need to bring along essental items for your baby. Dolls and equipment will be provided for your use during the sessions if you are attending in the ante-natal period.

Can I bring my other children along?

Unfortunately we do not have the capacity to accommodate any children other than your newborn due to room size and venue regulations.

What if I need to cancel my booking?

We understand that due to unforeseen circumstances you may need to cancel your booking. For cancellations we require a minimum of 48 hours notice and will wherever possible offer you an alternative class.

Can I ask questions during the class?

Absolutely, and we would encourage you to do so. We will endeavour to explain all aspects of the modules as we go through the class, but want this to be a very interactive course. There is no such thing as a 'silly question' and you are almost definitely going to be asking something that potentially another participant was thinking. This course is a safe place to ask anything baby related and we have a dedicated question and answer section at the end of the class.

Do you cover Breastfeeding and Lactation as part of this class?

We briefly mention feeding preferences and choices during the class and talk about feeding cues in general, however this course is focussed around practical and hands-on newborn care practices and principles. We understand that when issues occur with breastfeeding it can be a very sensitive and personal issue for mothers, which is best supported by professionals in that field who can offer you an individualised plan for feeding. This would ususally be offered by a Lactation Consultant.
